St Aidan’s Rowing team is gearing up for a bumper season and for its best outing ever in the 2024/25 school year. Set up 2 years ago in partnership with Rowing Ireland and Active South Dublin, the team is made up of over 70 students of all age groups, levels of ability and representative of 24 nationalities in the school. Like the Irish Olympic team, rowing seems to be a real area of strength and talent in St. Aidan’s. In two years of regatta competitions the school has picked up over 60 medals and in May 2024 was the highest ranking team in all competitions.
In preparation for the new season, the school has secured a partnership and sponsorship deal with EMS Copiers Managed Print Solutions. Here we can see the unveiling of the new sports tops which were designed by the students.
The launch took place with a visit form NAPD director Paul Crone, EMS CEO John Cahill and his wife Eileen and Aoife Byrne of Rowing Ireland.
Medals were also presented by the visitors, speeches were made by students and special guests and a reception followed. St. Aidan’s rowers cannot wait for the coming season and the opportunities that lie ahead. They aim to make some serious waves in the world of competitive rowing. The school would like to express its appreciation for the generous support given by EMS Copiers and the time invested by Active South Dublin and Rowing Ireland in the school.
